Third Grade

I am so excited that I get to come to work and share the gospel with my kids each and every day. I am so lucky to be at a place where we get to do this unapologetically. Outside the classroom, my life is full and fabulous. My wife, Ashlley, and I have a dog named Coconut who thinks he runs the household, and we're counting down the days until we welcome our baby girl this October, so it's shaping up to be a big year for our family. When I'm not teaching, you'll usually find me out on a trail somewhere, backpacking in the Sierras en route to a beautiful mountain sunset. I also love to travel with my family, try new food wherever I go, and unwind with a good audiobook.

What I love most about teaching is watching kids discover who God made them to be, and I take that seriously as more than just a classroom goal. I want every child in the school to hear the gospel and understand it. This is my third year at SFC, but my first year as a lead teacher, moving from second to third grade. I am so excited to build trust with my students and helping them recognize and fulfill their potential.

Mr. Belcher's life verse

Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.
Philippians 2:5-8
